The Challenge

Rednal Hill Junior School is situated in the South West of Birmingham. The school aims to ensure a happy, caring and safe environment where children and adults are valued and fulfilled. All staff at the school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Prior to using MyConcern, Rednal Hill Junior School were using a paper-based system. They were worried that because of the manual and time-consuming nature of the process, smaller concerns weren’t being recorded and only more significant issues were being addressed. They wanted a system that was robust and manageable for safeguarding leads.

The Solution - MyConcern

MyConcern had been introduced to a school that Rebecca had recently moved on from, she’d seen the way it worked and knew that it would do exactly what Rednal Hill needed.

"I knew immediately that it was a system I would want to introduce in any school that I worked in."

Implementing MyConcern

Rednal Hill Junior School found the setup of MyConcern easy, and the training manageable and informative. The setup was simple with MyConcern integrating seamlessly with the school MIS data.

They were also particularly impressed with the way improvements to the system are made and their suggestions for new features heard. The support provided to the school by Link2ICT has also been extremely helpful, which is most reassuring.

Outcomes

  • All concerns are followed up as there is a constant reminder of outstanding actions to be completed
  • More information is being recorded
  • The range of concerns being recorded enables visibility of the whole picture
  • Significant time savings
  • It is also much quicker and easier to access already logged concerns
  • Information can be accessed immediately and at any time
  • Concerns can be logged or updated at any time

"As Lead DSL, I would definitely recommend MyConcern to any school. It has allowed the whole school community to work more collaboratively to ensure children are safe and looked after. "
