The Challenge

St Benedict’s was one of the first schools to be selected by MyConcern as a Flagship Partner for its excellence in safeguarding. It caters for 1080 pupils from a variety of backgrounds, aged between 3 and 18.

Before adopting MyConcern, the school used individual forms, stored securely in a computer file to log and track safeguarding concerns. Access to this file was limited, the system was very labour intensive and information sharing was difficult.

The Solution - MyConcern

MyConcern was designed by safeguarding professionals to facilitate the communication, tracking and resolution of pastoral and safeguarding concerns. St Benedict’s were impressed by the innovative solution and felt the company’s background in child protection gave the system real integrity, so they arranged to see MyConcern in action.

"MyConcern allows every single member of staff to contribute to the pastoral wellbeing of students, without adding to their workload"

Luke Ramsden Senior Deputy Head and DSL, St Benedict's School

Implementing MyConcern

St Benedict’s rolled out MyConcern across both their Junior and Senior school. Its implementation has allowed the school to respond quickly and effectively to pastoral issues. The system provides safeguarding leads with a clear, comprehensive understanding of any issues affecting the pupils in their care, minimising risk, ensuring compliance and efficiently promoting pastoral care.

Outcomes

  • Staff can report and track the progress of their pastoral concerns
  • Senior leaders can obtain an instant overview of all safeguarding concerns
  • Facilitates secure and effective communication between school staff
  • MyConcern minimises risk, ensures compliance and promotes pastoral care

"The best thing about MyConcern is that the right information goes to the right people, we can create teams around our pupils and see the full picture."
